Heavy rain on Tuesday made roads slick in many areas of Connecticut.
The worst of the flooding was in Redding. It impacted the roads and rails by the Saugatuck River.
Officials say the train service was replaced by buses in both direction of the Danbury Line. Schools around Redding also delayed their openings.
Eversource anticipated over 100,000 potential power outages due to the weather. However, it reported fewer than 5,000. Those outages had little impact on Redding.
Officials ask travelers to be cautious and avoid wading into floodwaters. They also urge residents to always assume downed wires are live if they encounter any.
