Police say they have arrested a suspect who allegedly attacked a female Fairfield Ludlowe High School student on her way home from school.
According to authorities, 26-year-old Eric Julien was taken into custody after a woman who saw News 12 Connecticut's original report on the attack tipped them off. The woman claims she was also assailed by a man fitting Julien's description.
"We received a call from a prior victim of [the] ? perp who saw information on Channel 12," says Deputy Chief Gary MacNamara, of the Fairfield Police Department.
Julien is being charged with third-degree sexual assault and first-degree unlawful restraint after police say he grabbed the 16-year-old student by the neck and tried to drag her into a backyard around Holland and Jennings roads Friday. According to police, Julien fled after the girl began screaming. She was not hurt.
Julian has been living at 46 Crimson Lane in Fairfield since he was released from prison two months ago after serving his sentence for a sexual assault he committed in 2002.
Julien is held on $100,000 bail. He is due back in court Nov. 25.
