After cleaning up debris from this past weekend’s storm, local towns say they are prepared for potential flash flooding Tuesday night.
Assistant director of Fairfield Public Works John Cotell says crews have been clearing storm drains and placing barricades along viaducts for first responders in case of an emergency.
“Big thing is, if you don’t have to be out in bad weather, don’t go out,” Cotell says. “Be careful of downed wires. You can be several hundred feet away from it and still get hit.”
The town is urging people who own houses with a history of flooding to move valuables to flood prone basements and garages.
