A tractor-trailer jackknifed across three lanes of the Moses Wheeler bridge early Wednesday morning, dumping more than 100 gallons of diesel fuel on the road.
The accident occurred at the Milford-Stratford border, between exits 33 and 34. DEP officials later arrived at the scene to clean up the spilled fuel.
Troopers diverted traffic off the highway at exit 33, which caused backups on Route 1. Traffic is now back to normal.
No one was injured in the accident.
