Crews in Mansfield will continue working for the next 10 days to remove train cars from the site of a derailment.

The Department of Emergency Services said the cars carrying liquid petroleum are being emptied at the scene. Only one car can be offloaded at a time, and the operation is expected to take up to 10 days.

Officials said a single car can take between eight and 10 hours to transload, followed by several hours needed to burn off residual gas. The process began Monday evening.

As cleanup continues, Route 32 will remain closed.
