A state trooper helped ensure a Stamford officer's child wasn't delivered on the highway last week.
Officer Troy Strauser's wife Torey unexpectedly went into labor Thursday. The couple then got snagged in Fairfield's morning gridlock on their rush to the hospital. With contractions only three minutes apart, Torey dreaded a roadside delivery.
Strauser was able to contact Stamford dispatch, who sent Trooper William Baer to escort the pair to Stamford Hospital. With Baer's help, the Strausers made it in time and their daughter Sadey arrived minutes after they did.
