The price for a gallon of regular gas may be going down, but truckers in southwestern Connecticut say they are still being hit hard by the cost of filling up with diesel.AAA says diesel is currently about 76 cents more per gallon than regular gas. The average for a gallon of diesel is $4.14.Truckers say the current diesel prices are cutting deeply into the profits generated by trucking companies. Because of that, the truckers say they are seeing less pay raises and benefits and are forced to use older vehicles.The drivers say their vehicles get an average of 5-8 miles per gallon of diesel.
