Trumbull's first selectman is addressing recent incidents at the Trumbull Mall, including a gun being fired during a fight.
First Selectman Vicki Tesoro said she and Police Chief Michael Lombardo, among other town officials, met with mall management Wednesday to discuss security.
Tesoro said in a message to residents: "They have hired four additional security staff. They are increasing training of their staff and will be announcing by early July, details regarding weekend restrictions for youth under 18 as other malls have done. These are important steps, and we will continue to communicate regularly to address these and other important issues."
Tesoro said the town is conducting a Market Feasibility and Land Use Study of the Trumbull Mall area. The study includes the area from the Merritt Parkway to the Bridgeport line. Tesoro said the study will explore redevelopment and investment opportunities.
The first community session will take place at the mall on June 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. For more information, click here.
