A Trumbull police sergeant was charged with sexual assault in Shelton stemming from an investigation that started in 2020.
Police say Matthew Perkowski, of Shelton, turned himself in today.
Perkowski was released on a $150,000 bond.
John Scollin, of Shelton, a firefighter, also turned himself in to police.
The two men are friends, and the arrest warrant alleges the incidents happened in the parking lot of Echo House firehouse in Shelton and at Perkowski's home.
The arrest stems from a complaint filed by a victim in September of 2020.
The Trumbull Police Department says Perkowski's police powers have been removed.
