A Trumbull woman is credited with saving the life of a young girl who was pulled unconscious from a community swimming pool, police say.
The incident happened Tuesday at the Ten Apartments on Oakview Drive in Trumbull around 6 p.m.
Police say the 5-year-old girl went underwater and became unresponsive.
A woman who witnessed what happened performed CPR on the child before she coughed up water and regained consciousness.
The 5-year-old was swimming with her mom and another child in the pool when the mother turned away for a moment to help the other child, witnesses say.
The child was brought to the hospital for evaluation but is expected to be OK.
