A Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Climb will take place in Bridgeport this weekend, honoring the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller and other heroes in uniform who died on Sept. 11.
The event begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturday and will also raise money to help end veteran homelessness.
Gold Star families, wounded veterans and members of law enforcement will be honored during the event.
"What they do for these veterans is they give them a hand up, not a handout," veteran Brian Turco said. "Veterans have done so much for our country and it's up to me, as a veteran, to make sure that our fellow veterans are being cared for."
