Stamford police said they've arrested two teens and one of their mothers after finding an apartment filled with ammunition.

According to police, an officer heard shots fired in Scalzi Park at 2:30 a.m. Thursday, followed by a car speeding out of the park. The car was pulled over and police said they found a .45-caliber semiautomatic weapon and used shells inside.

The two 19-year-olds in the car were arrested for weapons possession. The mother of one of the teens was arrested and accused of not securing the weapon.

During a search of the mother?s apartment, police said they found guns, ammunition, swords, white supremacist literature and violent video games. The bomb squad evacuated the surrounding apartments.

Several neighbors said they were surprised about the situation and didn?t believe anything strange was going on inside the apartment.

?It seems to me that it?s kind of blown out of proportion. I think he was fascinated by guns, but I don?t see him as a Columbine type,? neighbor Scott Hambidge said about one of the young men.

Investigators said the bomb squad took the ammunition to an undisclosed location for detonation. According to police, the suspects are cooperating with the investigation.
