Two Trumbull varsity softball players have been awarded scholarships for their academic achievements and commitment to community service.

Becca Sexton of Trumbull High School, and Sophia Rodriguez of Saint Joseph's High School were selected from a pool of applicants who submitted essays.

The scholarships were presented at the inaugural Connecticut Timberwolves College Scholarship Golf Tournament fundraiser, which aims to provide financial support for student-athletes pursuing higher education.
