Uber is offering free rides home to those toasting the Irish at any bar in Stratford Thursday evening.
The head of the nonprofit group Wayne's Walk Foundation is sponsoring the free rides.
Group founder Darin Bershevsky started foundation after his best friend Wayne Lecardo was killed by a drunken driver in 2007. Bershevsky says that tragedy inspired him to come up with a program to help reduce drunken driving.
The St. Patrick's Day promotion will cover any ride in Stratford up to $10 beginning at 12 p.m. and until 3 a.m.
Organizers say they will offer the free ride program on other holidays as well.
