The University of Connecticut is offering scholarships to students who transfer from a state community college looking to earn a bachelor's degree.
The university will offer $8,000 to students transferring with a 3.0 GPA and a liberal arts associate degree.
Eligible students must also get a recommendation from the community college president.
The university says just under half of its transfer students come from community colleges.
