With students already facing a tuition hike next year, UConn's president, Susan Herbst, says there will not be an increase in room and board fees.
Herbst has recommended to the school's Board of Trustees that all mandatory fees stay at their current levels through the next school year.
In addition to more than $3,000 for housing, students must also pay close to $4,000 in dining and general university fees.
In December, the university board approved a tuition hike of more than 30 percent over the next four years, bringing in-state fees to nearly $14,000 by the fall semester of 2019.
