United Illuminating is appealing the state's rejection of its requested rate increase.
U.I. had requesting an increase that would have seen the average customer's bill rise about $200 per year.
Instead, state regulators approved a rate that will see bills go up by about a third of that.
U.I says the decision could lead to a loss of nearly $32 million for the company.
No word on when the court might consider the appeal.
