The United States-Israeli military strikes against Iran drew both support and opposition in Connecticut on Saturday.
"I am in full support of President Trump's decision to use military action," said Roy Abramowitz, of New Canaan. "I mean, the ultimate disaster would be, if they had a nuclear weapon and they would carry through on their threats, and we'd have a nuclear confrontation with them attacking Israel and other Middle Eastern countries."
Cary Valentine, also of New Canaan, said she is "totally opposed to the military action."
"That's how I feel. I think Trump should have gotten Congress's opinion and he didn't, and he just goes ahead and does exactly what he wants, so I'm not happy," Valentine said.
Sen. Richard Blumenthal said he also opposes the strikes.
"Embarking on a war of choice without an imminent threat to the United States risks a forever war without clearly defined objectives," Blumenthal said.
Blumenthal added that he plans to push for a War Powers Resolution in Congress this week, which he said is "Constitutionally required for any additional military action."
