Veteran Affairs hosts event at Bridgeport University to offer services to military personnel

The Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs says Stand Down provides veterans, active duty, National Guard, and Reserve military personnel along with their families "one stop" access to a range of programs and services offered by federal and state agencies, veterans organizations, and local nonprofits.

The Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs hosted its annual Stand Down event today at the University of Bridgeport.
The Wheeler Rec Center at the University of Bridgeport is just one of five locations across the state where the event that provides veteran services is taking place.
Both active-duty military personnel and military veterans were provided access to a number of benefits.
The goal is to "serve those who served."
The Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs says Stand Down provides veterans, active duty, National Guard, and Reserve military personnel along with their families "one stop" access to a range of programs and services offered by federal and state agencies, veterans organizations, and local nonprofits.
The Stand Down event also took place in Danbury at the War Memorial.
