Booming beats led to drivers being ticketed for violating noise ordinances in Secaucus early Sunday.

Secaucus police said they began receiving complaints from residents about loud music coming from Meadowlands Parkway and American Way just after midnight Sunday. When officers arrived, they found three vehicles in a parking lot on nearby Century Way.

According to a press release, one of the vehicles "had large external speakers that officers observed was the source of the disturbance." Police issued an ordinance violation to the driver and also gave motor vehicle violations to the two other drivers in the parking lot.

"The Secaucus Police Department takes quality of life issues seriously and will continue to strictly enforce all motor vehicle and town ordinance violations in regards to unauthorized car meets in our town," Secaucus police said in a statement.

After the citations were issued, police said the drivers were all instructed to leave the area.
