A Wallingford man is facing charges for allegedly making threatening and harassing phone calls to Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Police say Timothy Rogalski made five angry phone calls Tuesday to Sandy Hook Elementary as well as three other Newtown schools. They say Rogalski accused school leaders of making up the Newtown massacre in 2012, where 26 teachers and children were killed.

He allegedly called back later and spoke with staff.

"I want to enroll a relative in the Sandy Hook School and I just wanted to make sure that there was going to be no fake shooting on that day," Rogalski said in one of the calls.

Police say they were able to track the call and arrest Rogalski at his home a short time later.

In court Wednesday, Rogalski admitted to making the calls but said he never threatened anyone. The judge raised his bond to $50,000 and ordered a mental health evaluation.

Since Rogalski never made any threats to students or staff, the superintendent says that they chose not to put the schools on lockdown.
