Flags across Connecticut are at half mast, mourning the loss of a Milford Marine.
Corporal Jordan Pierson, 21, was killed during combat operations in Iraq. The Foran High School graduate was planning to attend UCONN, but decided to join the Marines.
Mayor James Richetelli says his prayers go out to the family. He says he is saddened the war in Iraq has hit so close to home.
The family has not yet released funeral arrangements. Pierson was in the Fourth Marine Division out of Plainville.
