Record-warm temperatures made shopping a little less merry for some local retailers.
Giovanni Alberino, owner Ski and Sport of Westport, says sales are down about 20 percent from last year.
He says this is only the second time in the 40 year history of his family business that warmer weather has put a damper on sales.
Alberino says normally this time of year Christmas shoppers come to him for skis, hats, gloves and winter coats.
However, Alberino says he has been busy with his ski rentals, and says the great thing about New England weather is that it could be 70 today, and next week it could be freezing.
