Washington woman accused of drowning 1-month-old son
A Washington woman is facing charges for drowning her son in June, state police say.
Sadie Fleming was taken into custody Wednesday.
In June, Fleming and her 1-month-old son Hudson were reported missing and then found hours later in Washington, both needing medical attention.
Hudson was found in Mallory Brook, which is a small body of water behind 127 Blackville Road. He did not have a pulse and was unresponsive, state police say.
Hudson was treated by firefighters on scene and taken to a nearby hospital, where he later pronounced dead.
Authorities also found an infant carrier and a vape pen submerged into the brook, both owned by Sadie.
An autopsy from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined that Hudson's cause of death was drowning and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.
Sadie was charged with risk of injury to a minor and murder with special circumstances. She was arraigned Wednesday at Torrington Superior Court.
