Water service was fully restored in Bridgeport and Stratford Wednesday evening after an early morning main break. Aquarion Water Company spokesperson Jeff Farrell said the break occurred at approximately 12:30 a.m. when a United Illuminated Company contractor hit a 24-inch water line. Water to about 600 people was then shut off four hours later. With repairs completed, Farrell is offering tips to customers to follow when the water is turned back on. ?Run the water in your tap. If it's discolored, let it settle down for a while as we flush out the water mains in the area,? Farrell said.
