A Watertown man appeared in court Monday to face charges for kidnapping and assaulting a woman, police say.

Authorities say Christopher Gianfrancesco met with the victim Saturday night in his car.

The victim told police Gianfrancesco then threatened her with a gun and held her against her will. She also told officers Gianfrancesco fired several rounds out of the car on Litchfield Road near the woods.

Police say Gianfrancesco took the victim to his home on Davis Street and assaulted her.

They say the victim escaped afterward and contacted police.

Gianfrancesco was arrested early Sunday morning.
