The union representing over 3,000 Pratt & Whitney employees confirmed that a deal has been reached with the company to end a strike that lasted more than three weeks.
The announcement was posted Tuesday afternoon to the IAM Canel Lodge 700 website. The union also posted results from the contract ratification vote. They say 74.1% of members voted yes, while 25.9% voted no.
“We have a contract…more details to come,” said IAM.
Workers had been striking since May 5 when members of the negotiating committee announced the company failed to address the membership's top concerns about job security, pension security and pay.
Pratt & Whitney originally maintained their position that no further negotiations would be made, even sending out a letter to workers expressing disappointment with their decision to strike.
Last week, workers announced they had reached a tentative deal with the company.
