Jose Febus Sanchez cried inconsolably as he shared the details Tuesday of his son's fatal motorcycle accident in Milford.
"My son was everything to our family, and we are heartbroken by his tragic death," the dad told News 12.
Jose Febus Rivera, 31, was killed in a motorcycle crash on
I-95 Thursday, state police said.
It happened near exit 38 sometime after midnight but was not discovered until around 12:20 p.m., state police said.
"I found my son - I did - not the police," Sanchez said.
Police say Rivera "failed to navigate a turn and struck a barrier and six sand barrels."
But the victim's father has a different theory.
"I believe my son was the victim of a hit-and-run driver, and I'm begging anybody who may have seen what happened to please come forward. We just want answers so we can grieve in peace," the dad said.
The family has started a
GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses.
