A local nonprofit desperately in need of volunteers is reaching out to the public as the school year begins.
Clothes to Kids of Fairfield County has a boutique store in Stamford where financially eligible families are paired with volunteers for a personalized shopping experience.
Executive director Elaine Rubinson says her store gives away about 1,000 fairly new wardrobes a year, but without volunteers, students and families miss out on the full experience. “In order to serve the people," Rubinson says, "we need the volunteers to be here to really work with the families and the kids."
