Frigid temperatures are headed to southwestern Connecticut this weekend.
Starting Saturday, News 12 meteorologists say the arctic blast will bring daytime temperatures to 16 degrees and a wind chill making it feel like -5. Those numbers will drop dramatically Saturday night as lows will hit -2 with a wind chill of -25.
The area might see some snow Saturday morning, possibly resulting in 1 to 2 inches of accumulation.
Sunday's high temperature will be around 15 degrees with lows hitting near 0.
Temperatures are expected to return to the 30s and 40s next week.
