Well companies say they've seen a big increase of calls from customers as the current drought conditions worsen.
Eastern Water Solutions says that calls have gone up 25 percent.
Operations Manager Steve Bormolini reports that customers are complaining of low water pressure, while others say their wells are dry.
"Some people are just running out completely," he says.
News 12 is told water levels have dropped significantly over the years, leading businesses like Eastern Water Company to drill deeper.
"From 1970, the average well was roughly about 150 feet," Bormolini says. "Today, it's roughly about 400 feet."
Along with drilling deeper, Eastern says it uses a process called hydro-fracking to help break down sediment or calcium deposits holding fresh water back.
