Silvermine Arts Center in New Canaan is turning clay into works of art.
Jon Puzzuoli is the head of ceramics at the center, and also owns his own studio in Norwalk.
"We’ve been making pots before we had language. We’ve always had to have something to put seeds in, to put food in, to cook in," Puzzuoli says.
He says the center is a school that teaches various arts, including photography, wood, pottery and jewelry.
Puzzuoli says seeing students create works of art benefits him on an artistic level.
"Although I am teaching, the student still teaches the teacher and I get to pick out little things that students are working on and figure out how that could be a cool idea to incorporate it in a different way in my own work," he says.
