Westport boxing coach hosts annual fight night to raise scholarship money for students

Boxing coach Rich Dean hosted the second annual Gloves for Good charity boxing event Saturday in Westport.
The fundraiser gave amateur fighters from across Connecticut and beyond an opportunity to showcase their skills while raising money for the Westport PAL Scholarship Fund.
"I got about three Staples High School students in the event. I'm happy that everyone can come out and be able to see the local high school kids getting involved in a good cause," Dean said.
Dean was hopeful to raise $10,000 from ticket sales and the silent auction.
