A report of a possible person fallen through the ice in Westport today turned out to be a false alarm.
Residents on Cypress Pond Road spotted a hockey stick laying near a hole in the ice and thought someone had fallen through.
The fire department was called to the scene for a rescue, but it turns out no one was in the water.
Someone had fallen in yesterday but pulled himself out and left the stick on the scene.
He was not hurt.
