Westport’s Michael Bolton reveals brain tumor diagnosis, says surgery was a success

Singer and Westport resident Michael Bolton is taking a break from touring as he recovers from surgery to remove a brain tumor.
The 70-year-old Grammy award-winning musician made the announcement on social media, writing that he discovered the brain tumor just before the holidays and that it required immediate surgery.
Bolton says the surgery was a success and he is now recovering at home. However, he says he will have to take a temporary break from touring so he can devote all of his energy to his recovery.
“It is always the hardest thing for me to ever disappoint my fans or postpone a show but have no doubt I am working hard to accelerate my recovery and get back to performing soon,” Bolton wrote on social media.
