Ghosts, ghouls and goblins across southwestern Connecticut are getting ready for Halloween night. Westport's Compo Beach is ready for a trick-or-treating spectacular as more than 1,000 kids are expected to crowd the area. Residents stock up on candy each year, and wait for the costume-wearing children to knock on their doors.
Paul Lane, an area resident for 51 years, says he thinks the draw is safety. ?It?s like a private night for them.?
