A Westport portrait photographer says she's using her time during the COVID-19 crisis to document the town's experience with the pandemic.
Jerri Graham says we're living through history right now and she wasn't going to miss the chance to capture it.
Graham says the images she's been capturing lately are memories of a town coming together while staying apart.
Working together with the Westport Museum, she's been taking front-step portraits of Westport residents, along with an oral history of their experience during the pandemic.
Graham says while a picture is worth a thousand words, including her subjects' actual words helps create a document of this moment in history from diverse perspectives around town.
Graham says Westport In Focus is an ongoing project. She says next she plans to share perspectives on institutionalized racism and the Black Lives Matter movement.
The Westport Museum is also offering some online exhibits & collections during the pandemic.
