Westport star pitcher among CT baseball players picked in MLB Draft

Day two of the MLB Draft saw some Connecticut stars have their dreams come true.
Westport’s Hiro Wyatt was the 75th pick, selected by the Kansas City Royals.
Wyatt, a recent Staples High School grad, is a pitcher who specializes in his slider and throws a 97-mph fastball.
He was Gatorade’s 2023 Connecticut Baseball Player of the Year.
Jake DeLeo, who hails from Norwalk and played at St. Joe’s and Avon Old Farms went at No. 173 to the Marlins. He attended Georgia Tech.
Luke Shliger, from Danbury, went at No. 180 to the Giants.
