Hundreds of parents in Westport will have to scramble to find rides for their children's after-school activities this school year.
First Selectman Jim Marpe says a bus service that took students to after-school programs will probably not be available when school resumes in just a few weeks.
The service has run for the past 30 years with the help of federal funding.
However, federal officials informed town officials those funds were never intended for that purpose.
Marpe says the town applied for a waiver, but has to stop the bus service for now.
