White House officials say they're preparing to give Pope Francis a grand welcome to the United States. The pope is scheduled to arrive in Washington, D.C. on Sept. 22, his first ever visit to America.

White House officials say they're preparing to give Pope Francis a grand welcome to the United States.
The pope is scheduled to arrive in Washington, D.C. on Sept. 22, his first ever visit to America.
Officials say Pope Francis will get a plane-side greeting from President Obama.
They say the two will meet privately in the Oval Office and Pope Francis will address a joint meeting of Congress.
Officials say the pope will then visit New York and Philadelphia before returning to the Vatican.
