The parents of a Wilton soldier buried their son Tuesday, receiving a Bronze Star and the Purple Heart in his honor.Army private Nick Madaras, 19, died in Iraq on September 3. State dignitaries ? including Governor Rell ? friends and family gathered at Our Lady of Fatima Church on Danbury Road to honor him. One family friend said that were it not for men and women like Madaras, Americans would not have the freedom they enjoy. He added that Madaras put his life on the line so Americans can safely remain free.Last year, Madaras graduated from Wilton High School, where he is remembered as a star soccer player and coach.
