A wind advisory was issued for northern Fairfield County Friday.

The advisory was issued until 7 p.m. 

News 12 meteorologists say winds will become very strong with gusts between 40 and 55 mph.

The strong winds could lead to some downed tree limbs and power lines and cause scattered power outages this afternoon and evening.

Drivers are urged to use extra caution when driving and residents should secure outdoor objects.
