WHAT TO KNOW

While we will see some showers and even a few thunderstorms on Thursday, the threat of a severe storm is not great. Nonetheless, we will be watching for the potential and bring you the very latest on News 12 Connecticut. In a severe storm, where it rains, it could pour, so be aware of the potential for flash flooding.

Strong winds in a severe thunderstorm could mean potential damage and the fear of flying outdoor furniture, so consider securing items in advance. Temperatures are expected to return to the mid-80s. By the afternoon, the humidity returns, so be ready for the return of summer-like warmth.

Friday features the return of the sun and a less humid start to the weekend. If you plan to go golfing, hiking or even just relaxing at the water's edge to celebrate Father's Day, then know Mother Nature is able and willing to help out.
