Police say a 5-year-old child has been safely reunited with her mother after the family's car was stolen while the child slept inside of it in Wolcott Sunday night.
The car was stolen at 11:30 p.m. at the Cumberland Farms.
Police say there were actually two kids inside when the car was stolen, but the 11-year old-jumped out after the thief hit a parked car on the way out.
The Wolcott police chief himself found the car two hours later in the middle of a Waterbury Street.
The child was still sleeping inside.
