A 40-year-old woman was killed early Sunday morning in a what a witness described as a hit-and-run crash in Bridgeport.
Bridgeport police say they received a call around 3 a.m. about a motor vehicle accident with a person struck. Police found an unresponsive female on Boston Avenue between Remington Street and Dover Street.
Officers tried to give medical attention on the scene but the woman, identified as 40-year-old Kemesha Roberts Johnson, was pronounced dead a little while later.
A witness said she saw a driver in a silver or gray Honda Civic hit her car and then proceeded to back up and hit another car.  As she followed the Honda to try to get the license plate number, she said she saw the car hit a pedestrian.  The pedestrian was carried about 200 feet when she fell into the westbound lane of Boston Avenue.
Police have been able to notify Roberts Johnson's family.
Anyone with any information about this fatal crash can call Officer Thomas Gallbronner at 203-576-7640 or the Bridgeport police Tip Line at 203-576-TIPS.
