Shannon Wade is an inspiration to many people in southwestern Connecticut. Wade, who was previously obese, started teaching Zumba classes after the death of her overweight grandfather from heart disease. She lost 90 pounds in the last two and a half years, and now the Connecticut resident has a cult-like following. Exercisers need to sign up a day in advance to participate in her fun and energetic Zumba classes across the state. Wade has managed to take a dark part of her life and turn it into an inspiration for herself and others.
