One of the state's best-known restaurants might never have become what it has without the women of the founder's family.

Frank Pepe's name draws crowds to Pepe's Pizza in New Haven, but his legend includes the women of his family.

"My mother dedicated her life to her family, to her children, so we can have what she worked hard at," said Jennifer Kelly.
