A body was discovered on the property of Pease Road Playground early Tuesday morning and it’s being investigated as a homicide, according to a release from Woodbridge police.

They say a jogger reported finding the body around 6 a.m. at the athletic fields located at 160 Pease Road.

Investigators found the remains of a male with gunshot wounds. They determined there was no immediate threat to the surrounding community.

The victim has not yet been identified. Police are urging anyone with information that could help the investigation to call the Woodbridge Police Department at 203-387-2511.
