Doctors at Yale University say they have seen an increase in people having foot issues from being barefoot at home all day.
Dr. Sean Peden, an Orthopedic Surgeon with Yale Medicine, says those working from home are not getting the shock absorption they get when wearing shoes. That could lead to issues, such as pain and swelling.
For those with serious issues, surgery might be necessary.
Dr. Peden suggests people wear shoes or structured slippers when working out or doing their daily activities to prevent inflamed tendons, torn ligaments and fractured bones.
