Yale University has named Maurie McInnis as its 24th president of the school starting July 1.
She will be the first woman to hold the job in a non-interim basis.
McInnis is currently the president at Stony Brook University on Long Island.
She takes over a campus that was rocked by protests over the war in Gaza in the weeks leading up to graduation earlier this month.
McInnis follows Peter Salovey, who is stepping down after 11 years.
